Abstract

To decrease the ejection force and to prevent the seizure during ejection in compaction of iron powder without lubricant, a compaction process using control of an internal diameter of a die using a shrinkage ring is developed. The internal diameter before the compaction is decreased by inserting the container into the shrinkage ring, and the internal diameter after the compaction is increased by releasing the shrinkage ring from the die. The friction during the ejection of the compact is decreased by the difference in elastic recovery between the die and compact.
