Abstract
Objective To study the prevalence of sleep-disordered breathing in habitual snoring in adults aged over 35 years in kelamayi city,and to compare the difference between Han nationality and Uygur nationality,female and male.Methods 2 353 subjects(age≥35) were derived from the population living in tianshan districts in kelamayi city.All subjects were asked at home to answer questions about their snoring by himself or bed partner.They were asked to answer the questions concerning snoring etc.and meaturing the height,weight,neck circumference,abdominal circumference,1 120 subjects have respiration and pulse oximeter testing.Include 609 subjects of Han nationality and 511 subjects of Uygur nationality.Results The respiratory disturbance index (RDI) matched patients with sleep-disordered breathing of Han nationality and Uygur nationality.The body mass[ (25.2± 3.3) kg/m2 vs (28.2 ± 4.5) kg/m2 ],neck circumference [(35.8 ± 3.3) cm vs(37.5 ± 3.2) cm],abdominal circumference [(88.7 ±10.1) cm vs (97.2±11.3) cm],oxygen desaturation over 4% per hour sleep >5 times(ODI4) [(16.3±0.7) times/h vs ( 10.9 ± 0.8) times/h],the nadir arterial oxygen saturation ( LSaO2 ) [ (80.7 ± 8.3) % vs (83.1 ± 6.5) %],AHI [(6.0±0.4) times/h vs (3.4±0.3) times/h] and hypopnea index ( HI)[( 16.5±0.6) times/h vs (12.2±0.5) times/h] were significantly different bettween lower and higher risk snoring groups ( P <0.01).The AHI [(10.9±0.6) times/h vs(8.5±0.7) times/h]were significantly different bettween Han nationality and Uygur nationality sleep-disordered breathing groups,there are significant difference on the prevalence of sleep-disordered breathing between male of Han nationality and Uygur nationality snoring groups (27.3% vs 16.4 %),female of Han nationality and Uygur nationality snoring groups (24.80% vs 19.4%) ( P <0.01 ).Conclusions The prevalence of sleep-disordered breathing in snoring in Han nationality adults over 35 years old was 52.1 % in kelamayi city,Uygur nationality was 35.80%,the prevalence of sleep apnea-hypopnea syndrome with snoring in male of Han nationality was higher than Uygur nationality.The prevalence of sleep apnea-hypopnea syndrome with snoring in female of Uygur nationality was higher than Han nationality.
