Abstract

Studies using true measures of insulin-mediated glucose uptake (IMGU) have found conflicting results about the rate of insulin resistance in PCOS. The largest study to date failed to find an increased rate of insulin resistance in European PCOS when compared to controls. This study was done to determine the impact of obesity on the rate of resistance to IMGU in a sample of American women with PCOS.
