Abstract
The requirements in the automotive industry cause an evolution towards very high mechanical property steels. The formability of dual phase steels (450 to 750 MPa tensile strength level) in comparison to microalloyed steels is studied by means of some laboratory tests (hole expansion, etc.) and press forming of some representative automotive parts (side door impact beam, etc.).
