Abstract

Abstract The principles and application potentials of the TSEE method for dosimetry are reviewed. The physical and dosimetric properties of BeO thin film detectors, the most advanced TSEE dosemeters at present, are described in detail. These detectors differ in their TSEE behaviour from ceramic BeO because of their smaller grain size, which reduces spurious effects caused by the pyroelectric properties of BeO.
