Abstract

Nowadays where everyone desires to have a healthy lifestyle, as it is must for maintaining our health and well-being, their comes the use of pharmaceuticals materials in excessive amount which further exacerbates the toxic impacts of drugs and their metabolites by contaminating the drinking water. Water plays an essential or basic role to sustain life hence a safe, adequate and open water supply should be accessible to all. Water providers around the globe have the responsibility to supply drinking water with great quality and in the necessary amounts. But the presence of medicinal materials along with their metabolites plays a major role in the degradation of drinking water. NSAIDs such as PCM, Diclofenac, Ibuprofen, Venlafaxine, and Metformin have been found in the drinking water in adequate levels. Hence, in this paper we’ll further discuss the occurrence and the destiny of drugs in drinking waters of numerous countries says in India, Germany, Spain, Poland etc. We basically focus on the impacts of these medicinal materials in the drinking water by highlighting the importance of a reliable detection method to detect them. Thus, the main objective of writing this paper is to clarify the presence of NSAIDs in drinking water and its harmful effects on human health and lay the basic foundation for spreading knowledgeable information regarding the impacts of NSAIDs among commoners.
