Abstract
Eu2O3-doped glass ceramics (GC) containing Na3Gd(PO4)2 were prepared by melting quenching technology and subsequent heating. In the visible light region, the transmittance of GC can reach 77 %. The emission peaks at 591 nm and 614 nm correspond to energy transitions 5D0→7F1 and 5D0→7F2, respectively. When the concentration of Eu2O3 is 0.8 %, the chromaticity coordinates (0.6288, 0.3701) are closest to the standard red light. Facts have proved that Eu2O3 doped glass ceramics containing Na3Gd(PO4)2 is a very promising red luminescent material and has potential application in w-LED.
