Abstract
Nanocomposite from Copper tungstate (CuWO4) was prepared by co-precipitation method. The resulting precipitate was annealed at low temperature (400 degree) with heating/cooling rate of 1 °C/min. The obtained nanocomposite was characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), which demonstrated that the CuWO4 powder belongs to the distorted tungstate type of structure with space group PI(2) and describe the CuWO4 as infinite zigzag chains formed by edge-sharing alternating < CuO6> and < WO6> octahedral faces. Also, crystallite size, as calculated from XRD, was found to be 6 nm. The high resolution transmission electron microscope (TEM) revealed that the CuWO4 nanocomposite takes the shape as rod particles with length is 60 nm and its diameter doesn’t exceed 10 nm. Also, the thermal stability was investigated via differential thermal analysis (DTA) and thermo-gravimetric analysis (TGA). Dielectric constant (έ) and electrical conductivity (σac) for the prepared sample were measured in a wide temperature range as a function of frequency.
