Abstract

Statement of the Problem: Lymph node involvement is the most significant prognostic factor for patients with oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC), along with tumor size. Accurate pretreatment staging in oral cancer is extremely important for planning an optimal therapeutic strategy. To evaluate the diagnostic accuracy of FDG-PET relative to CT for detecting metastatic cervical lymph nodes in patients with OSCC.
