Abstract

Ni(en) 2(tfa) 2 ( 1) and Ni(deen) 2(tfa) 2 ( 2) were prepared and submitted to crystal structure determinations, thermal analyses and sublimation tests. 1 proved to sublime under vacuum without decomposition, whereas 2 decomposed to give a volatile compound which has not been investigated yet. These behaviours have been related tentatively to solid state structure features. Vapour pressures against temperature have been measured for 1 and for Ni(en)(hfa) 2, whose structure and thermal behaviour have been reported previously (M. Urrutigoı̈t, C. Cecutti, F. Senocq, J.-P. Gorrichon, A. Gleizes, Inorg. Chim. Acta 248 (1996) 15). This study is part of an investigation of new nickel precursors for MOCVD.
