Abstract

In this paper, predictive control of DC-link current is proposed based on the interior permanent-magnet synchronous motor (IPMSM) discrete equation for electrolytic capacitorless inverters. In electrolytic capacitorless inverters, the electrolytic capacitor and power factor correction circuit are not used. Therefore, control of the DC-link current of the inverter to improve the input power factor of direct DC-link current control has been proposed as a method of controlling the DC-link current of the inverter. However, control errors occur in the DC-link current due to sampling error in the motor current. Due to this control error, a resonant current is generated in the inductance and the DC-link capacitor. The predictive control of the DC-link current proposed in this paper reduces this control error. The effectiveness of the proposed method is confirmed by experiments.
