Abstract

Introduction: Upper gastrointestinal bleeding (UGIB) is a common medical emergency associated with significant morbidity and mortality. Risk assessment scores such as Modified Blatchfold risk score (MBRS) and Rockall risk score (RRS) have been designed to assess the need for urgent endoscopic therapy and to predict treatment outcomes. However, their role in the management of UGIB has not been clearly evaluated. Aims and Methods: The aims of this study were to clarify the feasibility of these risk stratification scoring systems in the management of UGIB.
