Abstract

The rejection of disturbances is a critical issue in wind energy conversion system (WECS) based on direct-driven permanent magnet synchronous generator (PMSG), which is including the uncertainties in the internal dynamics and external forces. First, active disturbance rejection control (ADRC) scheme is introduced to track the motor speed in real time with the aim of capturing the maximum power. Second, since the time delay is inevitable in the WECS, which can deteriorate the performance of control system, the new ADRC structure incorporated the time delay compensation function with Smith predictor is proposed in this paper. Thus, the proposed control methods can track the lumped disturbance and compensates the time delay, simultaneously. Last, the effectiveness of the proposed control strategy is verified in simulation studies with promising results.
