Abstract

Purpose: The local deposition method is an establishing voxel-based method for radioembolization dosimetry. Due to its ease of use and potentially superior accuracy, many companies have developed this method for clinical use. However, two different tissue mass density assignments exist within the field. The two mass density implementations assume either a homogeneous mass density within an organ (Nominal Method) or derive voxel densities from a CT's Hounsfield unit to density calibration curve (CT Method).
