Abstract

Reduction of power consumption in telecommunication networks is a concerning issue for the information communication technologies (ICT) sector as it consumes huge amount of energy. Recent studies show that enormous rise in demands of network gives non negligible impact on global power consumption issues between 2%-10% and 28% of internet users increase the network traffic to 14Tbps per year. This explosion of internet traffic increases the number and diversity of available applications with better quality of services provided at the user end. Because of this continuous growth in traffic conditions of network the constant increase in power consumption and costing are the real concern of the Internet and more generally of the Information and Communication Technologies. The vitality utilization is getting one of the key difficulties for the ICT business and it is just expected to develop in significance. So as to send and bolster future information correspondence organizes in a monetary and manageable manner, administration and substance suppliers need to address the vitality utilization of their systems as one of their top needs In this article, the principle aim of designing an efficient, affordable and sustainable future optical communication network is focused. In this paper, how energy constraint shapes future networks are examined and therefore presented the concept Power conscious routing (PCR) mechanism. The aim is to introduce the reader to one of the method to save energy and drew their focus to the necessity for energy efficiency in information and communication technology.
