Abstract

Hibiscus tiliaceus is a semi-mangrove that has attracted much interest for its terpenoids and bioactive properties. Despite the interest, relatively few studies have linked the bioactive properties with specific compounds. The aim of the present study was to isolate the active component from H. tiliaceus leaves and determine the effects of the sample matrix on its tyrosinase and melanogenesis inhibition properties. Findings would be supported by molecular docking.
