Abstract

the purpose of this work, “potentialities, limits and operators of interreligious dialogue towards intercultural dialogue”, is to rethink and to deepen the potentialities, the limits and the operators of interreligious dialogue towards intercultural dialogue, in order to demonstrate how each of these procedures may contribute to consolidate harmony and peace between people. therefore, we start by showing what religion and culture have in common, as well as what establishes religious specificity when confronted with culture. our second step is to clarify the nature of intercultural dialogue, departing from its goals and its operators (mythic and symbolical, ritual and epistemic), so as to enlighten the singularity of interreligious dialogue, because of the importance of testimony as its most original operator. then, we will analyze how intercultural dialogue and interreligious dialogue are related to the formation of personal, socio -historical and collective identities.
