Abstract

Objective: Evaluate the effectiveness of subacromial corticosteroid injections for poststroke shoulder pain. Design: Prospective case series of 8 consecutive patients with poststroke shoulder pain injected with subacromial corticosteroid. Pain and quality of life outcomes were assessed at baseline, 1, 2, 3, 4, 8, and 12-weeks after injection. Setting: Outpatient stroke rehabilitation clinic of an academic medical center. Participants: Consecutive outpatient stroke patients meeting inclusion criteria between July and September 2007.
