Abstract

Setting: Tertiary referral hospital. Patient: A 40-year-old woman with persistent right-sided headache. Case Description: The patient was evaluated for predominantly right-sided occipital, temporal, frontal headache, and neck pain. The symptoms started spontaneously and persisted for 3 years. Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and a regimen of physical therapy failed to improve her condition. Imaging studies demonstrated fusion of occiput and C1. Assessment/Result: A diagnostic right C1-2 facet joint injection was performed with a positive result.
