Abstract

The local structure variations of γ-ray-irradiated Fe 85− x Co x B 15 metallic glasses ( x = 12, 15, 17, 21, 25) were investigated by positron annihilation spectroscopy along with 57Fe Mössbauer and spin-echo 59Co NMR spectroscopy. The influence of γ irradiation on the full width at half-maximum of angular correlation of the positron annihilation spectra was obtained. The analysis of the shapes of NMR spectra and Mössbauer effect distributions of the hyperfine fields for initial and γ-irradiated samples was performed. The infleunce of γ-ray irradiation on the number of clusters which are associated with a definite type of atomic short-range order was also studied. The effects of γ irradiation on regions of lower and higher than average ionic density differed.
