She has also taught at the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia, and the Joint Forces Staff College of the National Defense University, Norfolk, Virginia. A graduate of Wellesley College in Massachusetts, with a Master's degree in Russian and East European Area Studies from St. Antony's College of Oxford University, she earned her M.A. and Ph.D. in Political Science at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. Earlier, Dr. Manjikian was an assistant cultural attaché at the American Embassy in Moscow, and press attaché at the U.S. embassy in Sofia, Bulgaria. Subsequently, she was Director of International Programs at the Center for Excellence in Education, Vienna, Virginia. She is the author of Apocalypse and Post-Politics: The Romance of the End (Lanham, MD: Lexington Books, 2012).
