Abstract

Drug shortage has become a serious global challenge given its complex nature and its possible disruption of the routine clinical daily care which leads to negative clinical, social and economic impacts. The primary objective of this study was to quantify the causal association between drug prices and the probability of drug shortage through the following: -Determining prices of drugs with shortage in a comparative context of the foreign-to-Saudi (FTS) price ratio.
