Abstract

Non-linear equations which govern the vibration of rigid shafts supported on hydrodynamic sleeve bearings are set up. Their solution are presented for two catergories of application: 1 — Reciprocating enging crankshafts; 2 — Steam turbine, alterator and gas turbine rotor shafts. These solutions are compared with experimental and practal evidence to assess their applicability.
