Abstract
Mineralogy has a complex and varied terminology. Eponyms represent a segment of the terminological sphere. They are words with cultural value which preserve the prestige of those who discovered a series of minerals. In order to illustrate this, we have studied eponyms starting with the letters A and B. One of their characteristics is the international nature. As they are specialized elements, the general-purpose dictionaries of the Romanian language do not record them. The forms of these words show that they largely follow the spelling and pronunciation of foreign proper names.
