Abstract

This paper describes the modification of bilayer lipid membranes (BLMs) by the reaction of pyrrole polymerization. The properties of polypyrrole-lecithin bilayers have been described. These membranes show high electrical conducitivity and increased mechanical and electrical stability. A possible application of polypyrrole BLMs in the development of biomolecular electronic devices is indicated.
