Abstract
ABSTRACT We herein present an initial report on the preparation and use of a new modified paper chromatography system. Specifically, Whatman #1 chromatographic paper has been modified chemically by the incorporation of polycationic appendages. The present report concerns our initial efforts on the preparation of such modified paper and the effect of such appendages on the chromatographic characteristics of that paper relative to unmodified paper for amino acids and simple peptides.
