Abstract

Abstract The influence of temperature (1.9 ≦ T ≦ 295 K) on the polarized optical absorption and emission spectra of single crystal [Pt(o-phen)(en)]Cl2 · 2H2O is reported. Analysis of the spectra shows that the emission at low temperatures originates from the states of three types of traps located energetically by Δῡ ≲ 5 cm-1, 43 cm-1, and 194 cm-1, respectively, below the triplet exciton band.
