Abstract

Real-time image acquisition and processing system is widely used. In order to realize the fast development of the relative project, an image acquisition and processing platform is presented. In the design, the DSP of TMS320C6416 is used as high-speed signal processor core, and the FPGA of XC3S700 is taken to offer embedded memory, and connecting DSP and CMOS image sensor. To reduce the burden of CPU, the EDMA technology is used to finish the image data transmission. The main function modules of the platform include acquisition, processing, USB communication, and VGA displaying. The platform can acquire image, display image and make some image processing operations such as geometry transform, orthographic transform, features extracting, target recognition and target tracking. Experiment results show that design of the image acquisition and processing system is reasonable, feasible and has some application value.
