Abstract

Plasma distribution of atmospheric dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) can be modified by different applied electrical sources. In this paper, a 37-kHz AC DBD in air is employed to investigate plasma distribution characteristics at different applied voltages. By experimentally observed optical phenomena of microdischarge patterns, the obvious ldquomemoryrdquo and ldquorepulsionrdquo effects of microdischarges are analyzed.
