Abstract

In this final paper of a series that explores the design and control of processes containing inert components we study five strategies for the removal of intermediate inerts. It is shown that the best structure for the case of intermediate inerts uses a direct distillation sequence where the reactant is separated first (and recycled) and then the inert is separated from the product.
