Abstract

Nowadays, knowledge has a major role in factory efficiency. The integration of knowledge and information systems in the whole factory process appears to be as a key for the factory of the future. In future production scenarios, human work can be assisted by digital information in regard to creating work systems which remain flexible towards changing products and volatile demands through human adaptability while still making use of cost-efficient improvement potentials. This article focuses on the digital tool options - Digital Assistance System, available to support an operator when manufacturing physical products at a factory. A Digital Assistance System supports the operator, enabling him or her to perform a more varied set of tasks, which can be learned much more quickly. These customized instructions also improve the quality of the manufactured products. In this paper, the concept of digital assistance system will be discussed. Its model, implementation and all the necessary steps of knowledge transfer within the Learning Factory at the University of Mostar will be presented.
