The process of cleaning industrial and municipal sewage filter presses typically involves the employment of chamber filter presses as they can produce high levels of slurry dehydration for a relatively low investments cost. Markus Pandorf Dipl.-Ing. (FH) and Reiner Arenz Dipl.-Ing. (FH) of Josef Emmerich Pumpenfabrik GmbH review the suitability of piston diaphragm pump technology for this application and their associated life cycle costs.
