Abstract

Photophysical properties of a new type of viologen-bridged bis( N-propyltetraphenylporphyrinatochlorozinc(II)) triad were investigated, in which the viologen moiety is located perpendicular to both porphyrin planes. The effect of the orientation between viologen and porphyrin on the fluorescence lifetime is discussed on the basis of the structure in solution and compared with the corresponding dyad system.
