Abstract

Optoelectronic oscillators have been widely investigated for the generation of high frequency and low phase noise microwave signals. In this paper, techniques to generate microwave signals with large frequency tunability using a frequency-tunable and frequency-multiplying optoelectronic oscillator are discussed. The use of an optoelectronic oscillator for advanced signal processing is also discussed.
