Abstract

Generation 0–4 poly(aryl ether) dendrimers with p -amino-benzonitrile attached to the core were prepared. Steady-state photophysics of these compounds in various solvents was studied. The results showed that the TICT emission of the probe in the dendrimers dropped abruptly with generation 3–4. This indicates that a higher density core is formed in higher generation dendrimers and that the terminal groups may be inward-folding.
