Abstract

Thermally stimulated currents in various metal and metal free phthalocyanine single crystals (H 2 Pc, ZnPc, CoPc, CuPc, NiPc) and the carrier drift mobility in ZnPc are investigated. The trap depth is estimated to be 0.37±0.03 eV for those phthalocyanines commonly. The drift mobility of electrons in ZnPc is found to be nearly 0.1 cm 2 /V·sec at room temperature by the time of flight method. Dependence of induced current on ruby and glass laser intensity show that the triplet state plays an important role in the carrier generation in the near infrared. The phosphorescence emission in ZnPc and CuPc supports this result.
