Abstract

5,10,15,20‐Tetrakis[4′‐(terpyridinyl)phenyl]porphyrin and 5,10,15,20‐tetrakis[4′‐(terpyridinyl)‐1,1′‐biphenyl]porphyrin were used as building blocks for the construction of metal–organic framework (MOF) nanosheets with visible light absorption by utilizing the Langmuir–Blodgett technique. Moreover, the MOF‐nanosheet‐modified ITO electrodes were placed into liquid junction solar cells, and the photoconversion efficiencies of these cells were evaluated upon visible light irradiation. In the present work, the layer number of the nanosheets and the inclusion of C60 as guest have been demonstrated to be responsible for improved cell photoelectrical conversion by enhancing absorption and charge transfer, respectively.
