Historical and recent events in the developing field of Organizational Behavior Management are critically reviewed. The review suggests the following: (a) the field is losing touch with its basic science, behavior analysis, (b) the ends to which behavior technologies are employed favor productivity and devote little attention to satisfaction in the work place, (c) technologies for measuring and increasing satisfaction have not been developed, (d) the question of equity and allocation of financial outcomes of organizational effectiveness has been neglected, and (e) our basic science and applied tools provide us with means to address all of these potential problems.
