Abstract
The article presents the philosophical and anthropological explication of personality in the context of human existential freedom. Existential freedom as a basis for understanding an integral personality and the sociocultural determinants of the constituting of human freedom are analyzed. It is shown that personal freedom can be realized either in the direction of greater satisfaction of one’s natural inclinations or towards overcoming these same inclinations and desires, but can be based on the search for a balance between the first and second determinants of human existence.
