Abstract

The paper examines the legitimacy of the political authority towards the arguments of the philosophical anarchism. The majority of thinkers interpreted the notion of legitimization as the exclusive right of political authority to be obeyed and to be recognized, to impose duties and to demand their fulfillment, and to exercise the monopoly of legitimate use of physical force when needed. Regarding that definition, no political authority can be considered legitimate according to philosophical anarchism because citizens never have an obligation to obey every valid law that applies to them by the state. The proposed solution aims to demonstrate an adequate answer to philosophical anarchism’s objection.
