Abstract

Subsolidus phase relations in the Rb2MoO4–R2(MoO4)3–Zr(MoO4)2 (R = Al, Fe, Cr, Y) systems have been studied for the first time by the method of “intersecting cuts.” Eight new triple molybdates, with the compositions Rb5RZr(MoO4)6 (R = Al, Fe, Cr, Y), RbRZr0.5(MoO4)3 (R = Al, Cr, Fe), and Rb2YZr2(MoO4)6.5, have been identified in these systems. The thermal properties and crystallographic characteristics of some molybdates have been assessed.
