Abstract

From a microscopic point of view, the phase diagrams of binary alloys are calculated by use of a new model which can describe both the liquid and the solid phases on the same footing. In our model, new long-range order parameters describing crystal order are introduced in order to represent solid phases. An application of our model to the calculations of phase diagrams reproduces qualitatively the experimentally observed phase diagrams of both eutectic- and peritectic-type alloys
