Abstract

Introduction: With increasing experience, pancreatoduodenectomy is increasingly performed robotically with fewer anatomical contraindications at high-volume centers. For patients with borderline resectable or locally advanced pancreatic cancer after preoperative chemotherapy, the technique of periadventitial dissection (PAD) of major arteries was pioneered during open resections to achieve a macroscopically tumor-free margin while avoiding arterial resection. To achieve equal local radicality, we integrated this surgical technique into the robotic procedure.
