Abstract

Selected mapping (SLM) scheme is one of the most popular peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) reduction schemes for orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) systems. The main drawbacks of the conventional SLM technique are the computational complexity and the need for transmission of several side information bits, for each data block, which results in loss in data rate transmission. In the proposed method the side information embeds in the predefined phase sequence. Simulation results show the PAPR reduction performance and the BER performance of improved blind SLM method under multipath fading channel in OFDM Systems compared to that under AWGN channel by using ML criteria at the receiver. The decoding computational complexity is much lower than that of the conventional B-SLM scheme.
