Abstract
This paper explains the research results of leakage current and flashover measurement on epoxy resin 20 kV outdoor insulators in a chamber at various artificial polluted conditions. The waveform of the leakage current (LC) was measured using a digital storage oscilloscope. The digital data was transferred to a personal computer using a RS-232 cable. Further analysis of the waveform was done using Fast Fourier Transform. The result showed that LC was affected by various environment conditions like pollution, humidity and temperature. The flashover of insulators occurred at 64 kV for 2600 muS and 53 kV for 4300 muS in clean fog and high humidity condition
