Abstract

The need of fresh water is increasing day by day due to the huge population growth. The rapid development of industries in rural and urban areas is also increased to meet the supply of goods for huge population. The industrialization contaminated the water resources mostly. The solar desalination is one of the main option to meet the rural fresh water needs. In this work the improvement in the solar still daily production by various internal modifications is discussed. The nano type materials is used to improve the rate of solar still desalination. With the accumulation of ceramic nanoparticles in the basin water, the solar still's performance was monitored, recorded, and compared to the conventional still. More clean water was collected in a modified solar sill than in an old-fashioned sun still, according to the researchers. The improved solar still has a 34 percent efficiency, while the conventional still has a 22 % efficiency. The total efficacy was found to rise by 54 % as a result of design modifications.
