Abstract

This paper proposed a three dimensional (3-D) time/wavelength/spatial code for optical code division multiple access networks (OCDMA) with straight detection method in the receiver. The proposed 3-D code is developed by adding one dimensional (1-D) prime code (PC) and two dimensional (2-D) quadratic congruence (QC) code. The performance analysis of the OCDMA network depends upon the measured bit error rate (BER), signal to noise ratio (SNR) and received power. The mathematical analysis considers different noises and multiple access interference (MAI) during calculation of SNR. The effective transmitted power and received optical power are measured at different levels of bit error rate to study the attenuation effect.
