Abstract

In this paper, proportional integral (PI) controller with hysteresis current controller (HCC) for brushless DC (BLDC) motor has designed and simulated. BLDC motors are more efficient, have a wider speed control range, and have a higher torque ratio. There are so many techniques, which can be used to regulate the speed of the brushless DC motor and limit the torque ripple. Due to the complexity of most methods and their disregarding of stator flux linkage control, high-speed performances are impractical. To overcome this problem, PI controller is used, which can proceed the current speed, evaluate this value to the operating point, and determine the frequency of the output signals. The motor has driven using a modified hysteresis controller, which limit the torque ripple and regulate the current under predetermined range. Through simulation results by using MATLAB software, the postulated three-phase BLDC motor control scheme’s viability and practical applicability are verified.
