Abstract

Acute myocardial infarction following blunt chest trauma is a rare, life-threatening complication of blunt chest trauma [1]. Early recognition and appropriate management of this condition are critical in ensuring a favorable patient outcome. It is increasingly clear that primary percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) is the preferred approach, if performed in a timely manner by an experienced operator [2]. The PCI may be more complicated for the acute myocardial infarction following blunt trauma which may be accompanied by injuries of the other tissue and organs [3], but there were no prospective randomized studies and reviews for the percutaneous coronary intervention for this.
