Abstract

This paper addresses the authorship process in the educational setting based on a curatorship perspective, articulated with studies on personal learning environments (PLE). Promoting curatorial practices in educational settings involves the development of activities in which the subject both student or teacher, plays the role of author of their learning path, which involves the selection of content, the articulation between different selected materials, the production of new artifacts, through the creation and/or recombination of existing artifacts. This study is based on an applied and qualitative approach and presents a digital curation process based on three complementary phases: preliminary, significant, and consolidated curation. The data were produced in the context of two formative dynamics developed in higher education: a) initial teacher education; b) research project in the area of Fashion and Design. Based on the results, we can infer that pedagogical approaches focusing on digital content curation from a PLE perspective can boost the authorship and the collaboration in educational settings.
